My Novaform Gel Memory Foam Mattress Review

Design

The Novaform Gel Memory Foam mattress features a thickness of 12″. The top 2.5 inches consists of patented gel-memory foam technology and the middle consists of 2.5 inches of textured foam. The bottom layer provides 7 inches of superior-base foam. When you look at the breakdown, you’re really only getting 2.5 inches of memory foam on the top.

Now regularly I would advise you look for at least 3 or 4 inches of memory foam material so that you can maximize the amount of pressure point relief.

However, it does not seem necessary with this mattress because the Novaform gel is so dense and features special gel beads for maximum relief. Although it is only 2.5 inches, every inch is premium quality and super comfortable.

The rest of the layers are not as important, but it appears they’ve been specially designed to support the top gel layer on top. After sleeping on this mattress for a few days, I noticed no inconsistent sections and everything seems to feel even – which is what you would expect from a premium mattress.

Material

In terms of materials, the Novaform Gel Mattress is made from 100% hypo-allergenic and CFC-free materials. So if you’re an allergy sufferer or sensitive to “plasticky” smells, then this mattress is what you’re looking for. I’ve tried out some memory foam mattresses that feel great to sleep on, but feature such a strong smell it ruins your sleep (or even worse, gives you a headache).

Now that is not something you want when you’re trying to get a good night’s sleep!

Sleeping on the Novaform Gel Memory Foam Mattress

Now we get to the real meat of my Novaform Gel Memory Foam mattress review: how comfortable is it to sleep on?

For the most part, I was very impressed with how comfortable this mattress was. As soon as you lie on it, it gets to work conforming to your back’s unique characteristics. The sign of a good memory foam mattress is one that completely removes pressure points on your back.

This particular mattress definitely fits into that category. Some Novaform Gel Memory Foam Mattress reviews I came across even compared it to sleeping on a cloud (and when you sleep on it you will know exactly what they mean.)

Another problem with memory foam mattresses is that they tend to get very hot at night. This is especially the case with dense memory foam. However, the Novaform Gel Memory Foam Mattress maintains a consistent temperature throughout the night and has a specially designed circulation system. Heat is able to vent out properly and does not remain trapped in the memory foam.

The only drawback I could find about this mattress was its weight. It weighs about 91 pounds, which is quite heavy for a mattress. If you need to move it upstairs, you may find it a bit tricky. And its not the most maneuverable mattress either. It will definitely be at least a 2 or 3 person job. But of course, you’re probably not going to be moving it much once its in place, so this probably isn’t a huge issue for most people.
